Return To Oslo 12/08/2024

We enjoyed ourselves in Lillehammer.  Our hotel provided us with a true Norwegian breakfast.  Some of the dishes were familiar to me, others were not.  I tried a little bit of all of them. We celebrated Linda's birthday today and after breakfast we boarded the train for our return to Oslo.  We left about 11:11 AM and headed south.  As pretty as yesterday was, today was even more so.  A great portion of the train trip paralled the Ramafjorden Lake.  This is the fourth largest lake in Norway.  Our seats were on the lake side of the train.  I can't adequately describe the beauty of the scenery we saw.  We will always remember this birthday.

We got back into Oslo around 1:30...just in time for a late lunch.  Linda chose the Norwegian grilled salmon and I had the fish and chips.  After lunch we made one more visit to the Christmas market.  We have a full day tomorrow, so we turned in early.

I mentioned that when we got here, we were strangers in a strange land.  That was then, this is now.  The people we have met are very friendly and helpful.  As each day passed, we felt more and more at home. This trip is winding down and soon we will board our plane for home.

We would love to come back to Norway and stay a little longer. Until tomorrow.
